Can I make any money at this?

The latest U.S. census data shows that the average family income for:

  • Non-home worker families $54,430
  • Home worker families $64,165
  • Mixed families $72,343
    (at least one member who worked part of the week at home)

Note that this is total income, which may include salaries of both adults, some investment income, etc.

20% of homebased business owners earn more than $75000! So it certainly is possible to make a living in your home. Many of us are making a very good one.

Not only that, but you may not have the expenses of having a job (commuting, childcare,etc) There are no legitimate get-rich-quick schemes. But one of the keys of business income - it's not just how much you make that counts, it's how much you get to keep. Home based business owners have a much lower "overhead" and get to keep much more, so the same income actually means a higher standard of living for us!
